Thursdays are quickly turning into the best day of the week. For the past few weeks we’ve been treated to free pastries from Janice and her nice little coffee shop. Pete and I have agreed that the ginger-molasses cookies are downright tasty. I’m sad they are always gone so quickly. At least we’ve got next week to look forward to now. Keep up the good work Janice.
On a different front we’d like to personally congratulate Cloudveil and Atlas on their recent awards from Outside Magazine. The Cloudveil Koven Plus and the Atlas 12 Series Snowshoe received Outside Magazines Gear of the Year! This is the inaugural Winter edition of the award series and we’re stoked to have two of our favorite products included in the selection.
The Koven Plus was tested alongside jackets from every company that you can think of in this years search for the best winter shell. Testers called it “…simply the most adaptable winter-specific storm shell we tested.” Outside credited much of this praise to Schoellers new waterproof-breathable material with c_change technology. For those of us who didn’t know before, this material opens up when you get hot and closes down when you get chilly for a perfect temp all the time.
The 12 Series is Atlas’s premiere all mountain snowshoe. Built on the Atlas Spring Loaded Suspension, the 12 series is made to do anything you want to it but still come back unfazed. The ultra durable Duratek decking is super light but freakin bombproof! Combine all this with the new Wrapp Pro binding and you’ve got a shoe that can handle crud, hardpack, powder or anything else you want to throw at it. Make sure you’ve got these in your shop or on your feet!
That’s all from Pemba Base here in Madison but keep checking back and maybe Pete will give you the lowdown on “Important fact number three”. No promises, but maybe if you’re nice…
