Straight from today’s headlines, some things to think about as gas prices reach record highs and promise to stay there:
From the good news department, more people are using public transportation. And, companies are sending less junk mail. These are silver linings on otherwise dark clouds: With politicians and corporations hungry to find a short-term solution to these long-term changes, we should all be concerned about the threat to our public lands, particularly in oil and gas-rich Alaska.
Meanwhile, what are you going to do this summer? Consider a “Staycation,” and advocate others to do the same. We as an industry need to find our niche in these new paradigms, and recreating close to home – outdoors – is more than just a talking-point.
