With each clinic and sales cycle we’re exploring more ways to avoid the car and either get on a bike or use public transportation. Benefits? Better use of our time and attention, better for the environment and better for our well-being.
The November 2009 issue of Outdoor Life magazine features an article on how to “Make Your Own Pocket Survival Kit”.
Essential elements for the kit include Adventure Medical Kits’ QuikClot for “catastrophic bleeding” and Heatsheets for “instant shelter from wind and rain”. Looks like a Rescue Howler Whistle and mini compass from the Pocket Survival Pak are also included.

Our suggestion? Skip the assembly and just get the S.O.L. Survival Water Bottle and Survival Kit Combo.

The latest issue of Urban Climber Magazine pays homage to the Petzl GriGri.
“The year was 1989, and Peter Popall was climbing with his 10-year-old son, Thibault. Popall didn’t feel exceptionally comfortable with young Thibault on the belay, and as the Petzl technical director, this discomfort got him thinking. Not long after, Popall foudn himself drinking coffee with co-workers Paul Petzl, alain Maurice, and Michel Suhubiette. He spoke up. “We have to find a solution where a kid can easily hold a falling adult,” he said.”
While threading tree trunks after a session that went past sundown, you’ll be psyched to click on the PETZL TIKKA XP 2, a 60-lumen light chucker with one, high-output white LED.
